Since technologies are constantly evolving we have now new ways of work that improve every day our lives as developers. Today I want to talk with you about this new paradigm called Roots/Trellis/Sage. In my 5 years of development working with WordPress, I have seemed may different ways to use this incredible framework, Since building themes from scratch and plugins, to use these new page Builders Like Elementor for example. This platform has so many different ways to work it that I learn something new every day.
I came to my atention this interesting configuration called roots/trellis/sage that is no more that a compilation of tecnologies to do the live easyer for some advances delopers.
What if I tell you that you can download a virtual machine using Vagrant and configure all your local and production environments in just one single file, what about making a deploy to prod with a single line of command, that is very interesting. If it is your day to day work it could save a lot time that means efficiency and we are talking about dev-ops tasks.
Another interesting feature is the integration with modern package managers like composer or yarn, so yes it will be ready to get the libraries you want and work and widout the necessity of any initial configuration. For me that rocks.
but we are just starting it has many interesting helpes for example Use Blade to create themplates how about use MVC in your theme? another time savings and interesting gadgets that sage offers it’s SASS and Webpack so yo can minify all you Js fields, it has so powerfull structure that you also can distribute them according to the page you need to load.
